Culinary Expertise Meets Compassion: Welcome ATCO!

ATCO Joins Enbridge Tour Alberta for Cancer as Northern Lights Partner

In 2023, Team ATCO made its debut at the Enbridge Tour Alberta for Cancer, with 20 riders who raised an astounding $100,000 as one of the Top Ten teams. Inspired by the stories of fellow riders and the camaraderie felt at the event, Team ATCO has plans to significantly expand its involvement this year.

Jim Landon, President of ATCO Frontec and Captain of Team ATCO, reflects, “many of last year’s team are back again this year which just shows what a great event this is”.

ATCO, known for its diverse portfolio of services, decided to leverage its culinary expertise for the event as part of an expanded partnership, joining as Northern Lights Sponsor in 2024. “We wanted to increase our involvement and thought about what we could bring to the table, and food made sense,” Jim explains. With their renowned Blue Flame Kitchen and Fresh Bites businesses, ATCO is set to provide rider breakfasts on both days, ensuring participants start their cycling journey with nourishing meals and an elevated culinary experience. “Our ATCO Frontec division has expertise in catering services for large remote workforce camps in the resource, construction, military and humanitarian sectors. We know what it takes to feed delicious, healthy meals to over 2,000 people per day.”

“Our employees have a tremendous caring nature; they volunteer hours through our Time to Give program, they pledge to hundreds of charities every year through our ATCO EPIC Program (Employees Participating in Communities), and they support our communities in times of crisis.” Jim Landon

Beyond riders, numerous ATCO employees and their families will volunteer, preparing and serving breakfast, as well as hosting riders along the route at a pit stop. “An event like this brings our people together,” Jim remarks, highlighting the unity and sense of purpose fostered by collective participation in the Tour.

Recognizing the event’s significance in supporting Albertans facing cancer, ATCO is committed to maximizing its impact as a team. From sharing fundraising insights to organizing training rides, they aim to equip their team for another successful result. Additionally, fundraising events in Calgary and Edmonton during June will raise vital funds and awareness, amplifying the event’s reach and impact within the company.

With enthusiasm abound, Team ATCO eagerly anticipates the event, fueled by the collective desire to contribute meaningfully to a vital cause.

“Having participated last year and seeing how truly inspiring it is, and the energy that everyone brings, we can’t wait to share in that feeling again.”

As ATCO assumes its role as a Northern Lights Partner in the Enbridge Tour Alberta for Cancer 2024, we want to express our gratitude for their unwavering dedication and spirit of giving. With their culinary prowess, community-driven approach, and relentless commitment to making a difference, ATCO exemplifies the power of collective action in creating a cancer-free future.
