EY Crankers are Championing Hope at the Enbridge Tour Alberta for Cancer
As a long-time sponsor and corporate team at the Enbridge Tour Alberta for Cancer, EY’s commitment goes beyond financial support. They have created a platform within their Calgary office to share stories, honour loved ones, and promote health and wellness while supporting those facing cancer in our community. Their dedication and energy for the Tour has motivated countless employees, clients and friends to train, fundraise and Tour together for the past ten years.
This year, they are proudly riding alongside 37 members, including two Yellow Flag riders: someone who is undergoing treatment, or who has completed treatment and participating in the Tour. These riders are some of our most inspirational participants, wearing a yellow flag on their bikes to symbolize the strength and resilience of those facing cancer in our province.
One such rider is Grace Noh, a proud second year participant, cancer survivor and cherished member of Team EY.
“I first heard of the Tour in the EY office. At that time, I had just moved to Calgary and was looking for a great cause to help remind me of where I’ve been, so when I saw this opportunity – I jumped right in. My first Tour last year was awesome!”
The Enbridge Tour Alberta for Cancer holds a special place in Grace’s heart. It’s not just a cycling event; it’s a symbol of solidarity, hope, and the collective effort to bring an end to cancer.
“My first year’s Tour experience with EY colleagues (Crankers) was wholesome, to say the least. I got to ride the Tour alongside another colleague, Roxanne Israel, who had gone through her own cancer journey, and it was such a tangible reminder of the power of community,” Grace recounted, highlighting the camaraderie and support she found among her teammates.
For Grace, the Tour is more than just a physical challenge; it’s a journey of self-discovery and empowerment. “This Tour was a reminder for me of where I’ve been and is a fight for friends and family who are currently going through a similar journey,” she explained. “Also, this Tour is special because it is raising funds to support various cancer research, facilities, and people in need in the very province I’m a part of.”
As Grace gears up for another year of riding alongside her EY colleagues, she looks forward to sharing this experience with her husband, who will be joining the Tour for the first time. “I’m excited to see more and more people join in on this great cause,” she shares.
Reflecting on her journey, Grace had some heartfelt advice for those considering joining the Tour: “Do it! You won’t regret it on the day of the Tour when you hear the inspiring stories, people riding with their yellow flags, and the whole community coming together. It’s worth it!”
EY’s Commitment to a Cancer-Free Future
EY’s continued involvement and championship of the Tour is a testament to their dedication to community, resilience, and the shared goal of eradicating cancer. The yellow flag riders, like Grace, are a poignant reminder of why the Tour exists. They embody the courage, the hope, and the relentless pursuit of a future free from cancer.
As we cheer on Team EY and all the participants in this year’s Tour, we celebrate the power of community and the incredible strength of those like Grace Noh, who inspire us all to ride for a brighter, cancer-free future.
